1. Dickie Brothers Orchard
Location: Dickie Brothers Orchard, 2252 Dickie Road, Roseland, Virginia, 22967
Time: 10 AM to 4 PM
Info: Want to pick your own apples? Visit Dickie Brothers Orchard! The orchard has been in the Dickie family since King George II granted the land to their family in 1750. Their family has been farming this land for over two centuries (264 years to be exact)! They also have sweet potatoes, apple butter, apple sauce, jams, jellies, and apple cider.
2. Wildlife Photo Contest
Location: The Great Frame Up, 1860 Rio Hill Center, Charlottesville
Info: The Rockfish Wildlife Sanctuary is holding its first annual Wildlife Photo Contest to further its mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and release wild animals in Virginia. All local photographers are invited to enter 8×10” photos of Virginia wildlife and landscapes in person at The Great Frame Up during the month of September. For more information, call 434-973-8588!
3. 4th Annual Misty Mountain Music Festival
Location: Misty Mountain Camp Resort, 56 Misty Mountain Road, Greenwood, VA 22943
Time: 4 to 9 PM Friday – Sunday
Info: The 4th Annual Misty Mountain Music Festival showcases original bands alongside local businesses and artisans. The festival aims to entertain local and regional fans while giving back to the community through charitable donations. The festival offers something for all ages as you sit back and relax to the best Folk, Bluegrass, Country and Americana! This year the Misty Mountain Music Festival will not require ticket purchases instead they have partnered with the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank so admission to the event will be a personal monetary donation to the charity at the gates or online at http://www.brafb.org!
1. Thursday Evening Sunset Series
Location: Carter Mountain Orchard, 1425 Carters Mountain Trail, Charlottesville, VA 22901
Time: 6 to 9 PM
Info: Come enjoy live music, food, and wine as the sun sets this Thursday! Enjoy an array of local food vendors selling items including delectable deserts such as a fresh cider donut. You may also pick your own apples and peaches!
1. Tom Tom Fall Block Party
Location: McGuffey Art Center, 201 Second Street, NW, Charlottesville, VA 22902
Time: 5 to 11 PM
Info: Tom Tom Founders Festival’s epic end of summer jam features funk bands, a charity cornhole championship, aerialist acrobats, local food trucks, dance performances, and a New Belgium craft beer garden with hard-to-find drafts. Look out for the special “parties-within-the-party” for creatives, techies, and music professionals. The Fall Block Party is free to enter and celebrates the launch of Founding Cville. 1. Drumheller’s Orchard Apple Festival
Location: Drumheller’s Orchard, 1130 Drumheller Orchard Lane, Lovingston, VA 22949
Time: 9 AM to 5 PM
Info: Drumheller’s Orchard Apple Festival features apples, apple butter, cider, honey, country hams, pumpkins, and baskets! There will be food available for purchase, an apple sling shot, arts and crafts, bouncy houses, hayrides and corn maze (weather permitting). There will be free parking and entertainment!
2. Metro DC Xtreme Hike Hosted at Devils Backbone Brewing Company
Location: Devils Backbone Brewing Company, 200 Mosbys Run, Roseland, VA 22967
Time: 4:30 AM to 4 PM
Info: The Metro DC Xtreme Hike is hosted at Devils Backbone Brewing Company this Saturday! The hike raises funds and awareness for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s mission to find a cure for cystic fibrosis. Hikers begin their 26 mile walk on Wintergreen Mountain at 4:30AM and finish up at Basecamp where they will celebrate together and enjoy DB brews and food! 3. Monticello’s Taste of Virginia

Info: Join us for Monticello’s Taste of Virginia at The Shop at Monticello! Calling all Charlottesville area locavores and foodies! Celebrate this season’s harvest at the Monticello Museum Shop, selling sample food and drinks made right here in Virginia! Free admission to the Thomas Jefferson Visitor Center on Saturday, September 27! While you’re here, enjoy a FREE American Heritage Chocolate tasting and historic chocolate presentation with Monticello staff.
4. 18th Annual Charlottesville Vegetarian Festival
Location: Lee Park in Downtown Charlottesville, 2nd Street NE and Market Street, Charlottesville, VA 22901
Time: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Info: It’s Virginia’s Premier Vegetarian Festival, back for its 18th year. This festival is one of the oldest and most well established of its kind and attracts up to 6,000 attendees each year! There will be music and entertainment, educational seminars with renowned speakers, and of course, cooking demonstrations!
4. Saunders Brothers Farm Market
