What experience with Green Grounds are you most proud of?

One of the greatest experiences that I have been part of due to Green Grounds was seeing customer feedback in response to Roots adopting sustainable practices. When the restaurant began recycling and partaking in waste diversion, their customers reacted automatically. They noted and appreciated the change and it was great to hear that they were invested in these changes.

What experience with Green Grounds are you most proud of?

The best experience that I have had with Green Grounds is establishing Cans to Cans and watching it flourish into what it has become today. I am immensely proud of everyone that has worked on this project and even more proud of the people that contribute their time to such a great cause. I am excited to see this organization grow even more and impact not only UVA, but also the Charlottesville Community.

What experience with Green Grounds are you most proud of?

My favorite Green Grounds experience has been the Alumni Career Conversations this winter. We have a great group of alumni in green fields who can offer relevant advice to all of us, so it felt great to get them in contact with the students seeking their advice (including myself)! It was a great turnout.

I am most proud of implementing composting and recycling into Roots Natural Kitchen through Green Corner Consulting. In addition, I am excited about the newly introduced Sustainable Lifestyle Circles.

What experience with Green Grounds are you most proud of?

I organized a film screening of the Academy Award nominated documentary Sun Come Up about climate change refugees from the Carteret Islands in Papa New Guinea. Climate change is real; it deprives humans of their basic needs and displaces them from their homes!
